Online Publication of Master’s Theses
Objective
From the HAL Portal of Université Côte d'Azur, we offer a system for the online publication of Master’s theses. Below you will find the various elements to consider for this operation.
Principles
Eligible students wishing to publish their thesis will upload their file on the HAL Portal of Université Côte d'Azur by providing the necessary descriptive metadata. By making this deposit, the author publishes their work online on HAL Université Côte d'Azur. No contractual formalities are required, thus simplifying the process for students and librarians.
The library will moderate the deposit by ensuring the depositor's eligibility, the quality of the descriptive data, and the readability of the file. Master's programs are responsible for defining the selection criteria for theses to be published online. Annually, the library will receive the list of eligible theses. Theses thus published will be accessible via the HAL Portal of Université Côte d'Azur or through the dedicated collection https://hal.univ-cotedazur.fr/MEMOIRES-UNIV-COTEDAZUR.
Opening Procedures
Master's program directors are invited to express their interest via the address: bibliotheques.depot-memoire-etudiant@univ-cotedazur.fr. To assist them in their efforts, guides and forms have been created. They will ensure a uniform procedure while offering the necessary flexibility to the specificities of each master's program:
Guide and membership form for master's programs
List of theses eligible for deposit
Deposit guide for students and video tutorial (in preparation)
Support
The SCD will conduct regular meetings with EUR directors and master's program directors, particularly regarding: Potential needs for clarification of selection criteria Development of cover and document templates. Additionally, the SCD will systematically conduct an annual evaluation of the system, working closely with all stakeholders.
